SILTER from 83 to today

  • Silter started its commercial life in 1983 as a manufacturer in the machinery industry.

  • In 1986, as a result of rapid developments in the textile and apparel sector, it decided to shift its main activity to this field.

  • In early 1987, the first Industrial Type Steam Iron was launched under the Silter trademark.

  • The first iron model, ST/B 200 , is still one of the best-selling iron models in Turkey and the world.

  • Towards the end of 1991, its share in the industrial iron pie reached 50% and the number of foreign irons coming from abroad decreased at the same rate.

  • In early 1992, it was decided to start production of the 1 litre water capacity Boiler Type Steam Iron and towards the end of the same year, the product was launched on the market under the name Super Mini 2000.

  • In the same year, Silter started to produce foldable type Ironing Tables in accordance with the needs of the market.

  • In mid-1994, Silter launched a new version, the Super Mini 2002, with a 2-litre boiler volume, as a result of the strong demand from the industry for the Boiler Type Steam Iron.

  • By the end of 1994, the company had reached a market share of 70% in the Boiler Type Steam Iron field.

  • From the beginning of 1995, Silter became the Turkish representative of OLAB solenoid valves and COBRA bimetal thermostats.

  • Silter produced its first Teflon Base with Aluminum Frame in Turkey. Other intermediate product manufacturing such as Condensate Group, Pressure Switch, Microswitch, and its first intermediate product, Silicone Hose, provided the company with the opportunity to respond to domestic and foreign markets with a wider product range.

  • Silter's market share in the Turkish Garment Industry Steam Iron market reached 65%, and its market share in the Mini Steam Boiler market reached 80%.

  • In mid-1998, it was decided to design new models of the Boiler Type Steam Iron production for homes. It was planned to make changes to existing models, taking into account the needs of homes, and to launch this new product under the Gazzella trademark.

  • Silter established SilPa Inc. to market its products.

  • The home-type Gazzella Super Mini series was launched in mid-1999. The product attracted great interest both domestically and internationally, and preparations for a domestic and international promotional campaign for the Gazzella Super Mini series were initiated.

  • CE certificate was obtained for the Gazzella Super Mini series.

  • In 2000, Silter transformed its products into a Steam Cleaning Robot and offered them to related sectors under the Goldental brand.

  • The year 2000 was the year when Silter began to reach its export targets. Today, Silter exports to 79 countries.

  • Silter has launched its 3.5 litre Mini Steam Generator Iron under the name Silter Super Mini 2035.

  • At the beginning of 2001, all Administrative and Manufacturing staff in Güngören and Merter were combined in the 5000 m2 factory building in Büyük Çekmece.

  • In 2003, it introduced the 5-liter Mini Steam Generator Iron Silter Super Mini 2005 to the market.

  • It launched the Steam Brush Ironing Robot in the special purpose irons category under the Fırmini brand in 1, 2 and 3.5 liter options.

  • In 2004, Foldable Ironing Boards, which have a patented folding mechanism in which the ironing board and mini steam boiler are integrated, were introduced to the market under the Harmony brand.

  • Silter also produced the Household Steam Hand Iron this year.

  • Due to the intense demand from foreign markets, Silter produced the Fully Automatic Steam Boiler to be sold only in these markets. It took its place in the sector under the Super Midi series, which is a segment above the Super Mini series.

  • At the beginning of 2005, the home group began to enter the store shelves of the retail sector.

  • In mid-2005, the İVİ direct sales organization was established and sales teams for homes were created under the İVİ brand. Direct marketing was initiated with an army of over 1200 Sales Representatives formed throughout Turkey.

  • Over the years, Silter has gained depth by establishing the electronic research & development unit needed for its products. Thus, Silter R&D departments started to operate in two separate channels as mechanical and electronic R&D.

  • Gazzella SuperMini 2020 was launched in the consumer group Boiler Type Steam Iron range with 6 different models and achieved great turnover success with its eye-catching design.

  • In 2006, the new generation 3-Function Steam Cleaning Robot TrioMini was introduced to the market.

  • In 2006, Silter produced the home ironing board in its Büyükçekmece facilities and launched it on the market for the first time under the SQUAD brand. The product received great acclaim for its quality and achieved great sales figures in a short time.

  • Gazzella Super Mini 2030 and 2040 models were introduced to the market in the consumer group Boiler Type Steam Iron range and achieved a good sales chart in the lower segment product range.

  • Silter, which has 18 registered trademarks, 6 patents, 22 design registrations and utility model certified products, crowned its superior quality with the ISO-9001-2000 Quality Management Certificate in 2006.

  • In 2007, Silter launched its second brand, MAGMA . Magma has been very successful, especially in competing with counterfeit products launched abroad and in fighting against domestic and foreign companies that tried to copy Silter's brand and design.

  • Silter started manufacturing the snail type Pascal Engine and launched it on the market under the brand name POTENT.

  • In 2008, the production of Laundry Dryers was started and offered to consumers under the Hang'n Dry brand.

  • In the same year, Silter began manufacturing stairs under the Up'n Up brand.

  • Silter, which had previously manufactured only electric hand irons, produced and launched electronic hand irons under the Saib and Silectro brands in industrial hand irons in 2009.

  • In 2009, the latest members of the Super Mini series, the 7.5 liter and 10 liter water capacity Boiler Type Steam Irons, took their place on the shelves.

  • In 2010, Silter, the largest manufacturer of Boiler Type Steam Generators in Turkey, decided to enter the classic home iron market and started design work with the Azimut brand.

  • In 2010, it added a new factory to its manufacturing park by purchasing the building next to the factory building. The total factory size reached 25,000 square meters.

  • With the machinery investments made in the same year, the machinery park was expanded and production capacity increased by 40%.

  • In 2011, İVİ direct marketing organization was incorporated into SilPa A.Ş. and a reorganization was carried out.

  • İVİ's sales network has reached more than 1800 sales representatives in 64 provinces.

  • In October 2011, Silter started manufacturing cosmetics with its own formulas under the brand name İVİ Shine in its Büyükçekmece facilities.

  • In 2012; Silter launched a new BBQ design.

  • Following the outstanding sales success of the Squad home ironing boards, Silter launched the Gazzella Duty ironing boards as a sub-segment product upon market demand.

  • TrioClean has developed a new product under its brand. TrioClean is designed as a compact product that can iron as well as a steam cleaning robot.

  • In 2012, a new Boiler Type Steam Iron series under the name SuperMaxi has reached its final stage of design. Designed as a compact fully automatic steam boiler, the product has been brought to the final field tests stage as a product that will open new doors to the sector with its Super Mini dimensions but all the functionality of fully automatic steam boilers.

  • Today, the ST/B 200 industrial hand iron, which was the first product produced in 1986, has reached 40 different models.

  • Silter has begun work on the concept design of a vacuum cleaner, with a launch expected in the summer of 2013.
